The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Newspaper in Education program is a community service offered to teachers of Kindergarten through 12th grade. When ordered in quantities of five or more, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette print and electronic editions are available to schools at 4 cents per daily newspaper and 8 cents per Sunday newspaper. The program also includes sponsored editions from local residents and area small businesses. Sponsored editions are available in limited quantities throughout the school year. To be considered for sponsored copies, please check the sponsorship box on the order form.
We are pleased to announce a new platform for our electronic edition called PGe. The edition contains all of the content that is included on the newsprint pages of the full print edition and is available as early as 4am. Teachers will be able to view the current day’s edition along with any previous publication dates during their program term. A daily e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address that is provided on the NIE order. A link will be provided in the daily e-mail that when clicked, will direct teachers to PGe.
NIE programs and corresponding curriculum guides provide creative ideas and activities that can be used in the classroom. Students are essentially using the Post-Gazette as a supplementary textbook in math, science, social studies and language arts. Whether in print or online, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette brings the real world into the classroom.
