March 14, 1984 New England: Major snowstorm. A total of 37 inches near Rutland, VT. Almost 2 feet at Portland, ME. Seven inches of sleet and snow at Hartford, CT. Storms killed 11 in Midwest and East. Wind gusts to 101 mph at Somesville, Maine.
March 14, 1991 South Carolina: Early morning severe thunderstorm produced hail to 2.5 inches in diameter. Hardest hit was Lexington County. The hail destroyed a brand new pickup truck in Gaston.
