Chuck Finder left Western Pennsylvania to attend the University of Missouri and cover Southeastern Conference athletics for newspapers in Birmingham, Ala., and Atlanta. Correcting the error of his ways, he returned to his roots in 1985 with the Post-Gazette.

He has covered Pitt football and basketball, Penn State football and basketball, Duquesne basketball, the Pirates, Penguins and Steelers, high school sports, Olympic sports, banquets, you name it.

He has written The Big Picture column about national and local media twice a week since 1996, every Monday and Thursday. Or whenever Mrs. Big and sons let him have the remote.
