TV Notes: 'Joe Schmo' finale tonight

Tuesday, October 28, 2003

Viewers will finally get to see how Mt. Lebanon resident Matt Kennedy Gould reacts when he discovers that the reality show he thinks he's starring in is actually an elaborate scam.

On the last episode of "The Joe Schmo Show" (9 to 11 tonight on Spike TV), good-natured Gould will learn his fellow "contestants" are actually actors working from a script outline. The first half-hour is all recap, then it's on to the big reveal, followed by some behind-the-scenes segments and an after-the-fact interview with Gould.

Before starring in the series, Gould worked at Bado's Pizza Grill & Ale House in Mt. Lebanon, which will hold an open-to-the-public viewing party for tonight's finale. Owner Sam Badolato said "Joe Schmo" fans from across the country have stopped in since the show's September premiere looking for its unwitting star.

"We had these kids from Notre Dame in town for whatever reason and they brought a camera and were videotaping where Joe Schmo works at," he said. "Everyone is excited to see how it finishes up, because no one has a clue."
