KDKA names morning hosts

KDKA's upcoming 9 a.m. broadcast, "The Morning Show," now has hosts and a start date. Jennifer Antkowiak and Bruce Pompeani will anchor, with Rebecca Hower providing weather updates.

The show will premiere Sept. 15, the same week Hower takes over weather duties at 5 and 6 a.m. (Jon Burnett will move to weekend duty). A replacement for Susan Barnett, who's leaving for a job in Miami after Sept. 12, has not been named.

Adding Antkowiak to the morning crew means she'll no longer anchor at 10 p.m. on WNPA or appear live on KDKA's 11 p.m. news. She'll continue to anchor at 5 p.m. and be the primary fill-in for Patrice King Brown at 11 p.m. (on those occasions, someone else will sub for Antkowiak at 9 a.m.).

News director Al Blinke said Ken Rice will anchor solo at 10 p.m. on Channel 19.

TV listings update

Beginning in tomorrow's edition, the fourth page of the Post-Gazette's TV Week will include both analog and digital channel numbers for area TV stations. Channel locations of stations with their HDTV signals carried on cable will be added to the cable conversion chart when space allows.

In addition, Adelphia customers in Bethel Park, Mt. Lebanon and West Mifflin will notice new channel numbers for two networks. Beginning tomorrow, WGN will move to Channel 11 and Shop NBC will move to Channel 34.
