Wean leaves WQED
Carolyn Wean, vice president of special projects at WQED Multimedia, will leave the company to spend more time with her family in California.
Wean joined WQED in 1995 and helped develop "On Q." During her tenure she once held the title of vice president production and business development.
She hired Deborah Acklin, who left the station to work for National Geographic Channel for a few years. Acklin returned this fall and was given the title of senior vice president of production and technology. Wean became vice president of special projects and most recently worked on the development of WQED's documentary on the French and Indian War, a project she will remain involved with.
Prior to working at WQED, Wean was general manager at KPIX in San Francisco. Before that she was general manager at Pittsburgh's KDKA, where she also once worked as news director.
Wean did not return a call seeking comment.
