TV Notes: 'Osbournes' returns to MTV Nov. 26 for second season

Thursday, October 31, 2002

By Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV Editor

Ozzy's back

MTV announced yesterday that "The Osbournes" will return for its second season at 10:30 p.m. Nov. 26.

Cameras follow the family and chronicle Kelly's singing career, the acquisition of more dogs, Ozzy's trip to Washington to dine with President Bush and Sharon's battle with cancer.

"We are excited to invite the world into our home for another dose of Osbourne insanity. This season the show takes on a whole new meaning as we share the highs and the lows of the last six months with our viewers," Sharon Osbourne said in a network press release.

"With the Osbournes you never know what you're gonna get."

'AgeWise' expands

WQED's "AgeWise" (6:30 p.m. Saturdays), hosted by Eleanor Schano, will begin airing on the PBS station in Harrisburg in November.

"My dream is we'll spread across the state," Schano said. In addition, the show's demographics are shifting. "When we started 12 years ago, our mission statement was to help improve the lifestyles of people over the age of 50. Now we're finding people under age 50 are watching our show. The show is just going extremely well."

Channel surfing

"National Geographic Today," which airs on digital cable's National Geographic Channel, will be downsized from an hour to a half-hour daily beginning Monday at 7 p.m. ... CBS has given full-season pickups to four new series: "CSI: Miami," "Hack," "Still Standing" and "Without a Trace."
