Extras needed for 'West Wing' episode filming near Volant

Thursday, August 08, 2002

By Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV Editor

An open casting call will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Orr Auditorium at Westminster College in New Wilmington.

More than 300 people age 18 and older are needed to appear in scenes of "The West Wing" that will be filmed near Volant, Lawrence County, from early morning until dark Aug. 23 and 24.

The paid extras will be cast in non-speaking roles as police officers, paramedics, White House staffers, politicians, volunteers, bus drivers, Secret Service agents, farmers and spectators.

No acting experience is necessary, but all those who attend the open call should bring a recent snapshot of themselves, a pen to fill out forms, and they must know their clothing sizes. Extras will be notified by phone prior to filming if they have been selected.

Casting is also taking place online -- go to www.mossercasting.com and register.
