'Good Day' on the way

"Good Day Live," the syndicated version of the wild Los Angeles morning "news" program that's more like a televised morning drive show, has been picked up by Pittsburgh's WPGH.

The daily program features two cackling women and an older guy anchor who plays straight man and is the constant butt of their jokes. It will begin airing locally in mid-September.

WQED gets soul

"Soul and Inspiration," the latest in WQED-TV's "American Soundtrack" series, premieres tonight at 7 and includes performances by The Dixie Hummingbirds, The Jordanaires and The Impressions.

Songs performed include "Swing Low," "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "Amen."

This premiere is part of a night of doo-wop programs, including a one-hour version of "More Rock, Rhythm & Doo Wop" at 6 and a half-hour version at 8:30. "Soul and Inspiration" airs a second time at 9 p.m.
