Local goes to 'Combat'
Pittsburgh Police officer George Ciganik, a member of the city's Special Weapons and Tactics team, will appear on this season's new reality show "Combat Missions" (10 p.m. Wednesday).
The show, on cable's USA Network, debuted on Jan. 16. It pits four elite squads comprised of six non-active military and law enforcement professionals against one another.
After each combat mission, losing squads must discharge a member. The remaining team members then proceed to the Dossier Room where they pick a replacement for their fallen comrade.
Ciganik, 36, was voted onto the show during one of the discharge segments that viewers will see on episode three, expected to air this week.
The show was filmed in the Mojave Desert at Camp Windstorm, a simulated working military base. Rudy Boesch of "Survivor" fame is host of the show.
Ciganik won't say how he fared.
"You just have to watch," he said.

That didn't last long
Last month The WB announced plans to rerun episodes of vampire drama "Angel" Thursday nights at 8. Evidently the experiment failed, because The WB has removed the Thursday night "Angel" reruns from its future schedules.
