TV Note: 'Link' returns to 'Burgh

Tuesday, January 01, 2002

By Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV Editor

Pittsburgh game show fans have yet another opportunity to be named the weakest link. Producers for the new daily syndicated version of "Weakest Link" will be in town to host auditions at 9 a.m. Friday at the Westin Hotel, 100 Penn Ave., near the convention center.

Prospective contestants must be 18 or older. Producers say they're seeking "lively, outgoing individuals from all walks of life." Candidates will be given a general information quiz at the audition.

The daily syndicated edition of "Weakest Link" will premiere next Monday, airing at 5 and 5:30 p.m. on WNPA.

That move sets off a chain reaction of time slot shifts on Channel 19. "Clueless" moves to 2 p.m. and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" goes to 2:30 p.m.

"Jenny Jones" will air at noon, "7th Heaven" moves to 1 p.m. "Power of Attorney" was canceled and "Texas Justice" takes its place at 11:30 a.m.

Two episodes of "King of the Hill" will air from 6 to 7 p.m. A double run of "Married with Children" begins at 11 p.m.

Reruns of "Star Trek: Voyager" will air just once a week, 5 p.m. Saturday.
