Time Machine scandal widens

Turns out KDKA was the tip of the iceberg.

The station was caught using a Time Machine to add commercials to a Steelers game last month in violation of its contract with the NFL.

This week's trade paper Electronic Media reports rivals are now accusing CBS owned-and-operated station WBZ in Boston of also using the Time Machine to add extra commercials in prime time, a violation of CBS's affiliation agreement.

Electronic Media says CBS-owned stations were allowed to use the Time Machine in prime time while nonowned stations were told to cease the practice, a double standard that irked nonowned CBS affiliates.
