TV Note: Local joins 'Jeopardy' team

Tuesday, September 25, 2001

By Rob Owen, Post-Gazette TV Editor

Yesterday "Jeopardy!" (7:30 p.m. weeknights, WPXI) began its new season and introduced a new element: The Clue Crew. Its members are correspondents who will travel to landmarks, historical sites and special events to tape clues that will be incorporated in the show's game.

Pittsburgh native Jimmy McGuire, last seen as a correspondent for WQED's "On Q," was among four people picked for the "Clue Crew" in a nationwide search.

Food show filmed here

The presentation for a proposed cooking show was filmed in O'Hara yesterday at Stefano's Ristorante starring the restaurant's chef, Stefano Tedeschi.

The sales reel will be used to convince network executives they should buy a new cooking series. It was directed by John Ratzenberger (Cliff Clavin on "Cheers") and features a visit from actor Steven Schirripa, who plays Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri, the bodyguard to Uncle Junior on "The Sopranos."
