Beth Friday hit a layup with seven seconds left to help Duquesne rally for a 41-38 victory against Towson yesterday in Towson, Md.
Duquesne trailed, 34-27, with six minutes remaining. Friday, a senior, scored six of her 13 points in the final two minutes. It was the fifth consecutive victory for the Dukes (5-1).
Shiri Sharon had 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for Duquesne. Friday grabbed 13 rebounds and became the Dukes' all-time leading rebounder. She has 933 career rebounds.
Mia Chapman scored 15 points for Towson (0-4).

West Virginia 114, Robert Morris 45: Kate Bulger scored 29 points in an easy victory against the host Colonials (0-5). Bulger, an Oakland Catholic graduate, made 11 of 14 field-goal attempts and had four rebounds and three assists. Sherell Showho scored 18 for West Virginia (6-0). Candace John had 15 points for the Lady Colonials.
Daemen 65, Point Park 63: Holly Betti scored with 2.1 seconds left as Daemen (5-2, 2-0 American Mideast Conference) edged the Pioneers (1-5, 0-1) at CCAC-South. Dena De Iullis led Point Park with 15 points and five assists.
Rochester 49, Carnegie Mellon 48: Carnegie Mellon (4-2) came up short in a University Athletic Association contest. Michelle Sodini scored 20 points in the loss. Kelly Wescott and Megan Fish each had 14 for Rochester (5-0).
Carlow 62, Rio Grande 58: Jessica Opyrchal scored 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting and added 10 rebounds as visiting Carlow (5-3) topped Rio Grande (6-3).
California 88, Kutztown 34: Becky Siembak scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Vulcans. (6-0).
West Chester 79, Edinboro 60: West Chester (4-2) jumped out to a 40-29 halftime lead and pulled away from Edinboro (4-2). Lachelle Crawl led the Fighting Scots with 18 points.
IUP 84, East Stroudsburg 68: Jacqui Martin scored 27 points as IUP (4-2) won at East Stroudsburg (1-5).
Clarion 72, Millersville 70: Heather Cigich and Tameka Washington each scored 17 points as the Golden Eagles (4-1) won at home.
Slippery Rock 57, Cheyney 56: Missy McKavish scored 21 points and The Rock (3-4) held on to defeat visiting Cheyney (3-2).
Thiel 84, Medaille 44: The Tomcats (2-4) jumped to a 16-point lead in the first half and were never threatened. Freshman Erin Layde led Thiel with 10 points.
Grand Valley 62, Gannon 56: Gannon squandered a seven-point halftime lead in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss. Cori Jewett scored 13 points for Grand Valley (8-0), while Katie Garms had 19 for Gannon (4-3).
Roberts Wesleyan 60, Geneva 53: Sabrina Adams scored 15 points, but Geneva (7-3, 0-1 American Mideast Conference) saw its thee-game winning streak end with a loss to Roberts Wesleyan (2-3, 1-1) in Rochester, N.Y.
Waynesburg 97, Lehman 74: Candice Eyerman scored 31 points to lead Waynesburg (5-2) to the victory at Lehman (0-6).
CCAC-Allegheny 81, Hagerstown CC 49: Lia Wyland scored 16 points as the Community College of Allegheny County-Allegheny Campus won easily.
Washington and Jefferson 66, Ohio Wesleyan 46: Freshman Leigh Sulkowski scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds as W&J (6-0) defeated Ohio Wesleyan (3-4) at the Bethany Invitational in Bethany, W.Va.

University of Rochester 66, Carnegie Mellon 50: Visiting Rochester held the Tartans to 27 percent shooting in the teams' University Athletic Association opener. Michael Divens scored 14 points for Carnegie Mellon (3-3, 0-1). Tim Sweeney had 17 points for Rochester (7-0, 1-0).
Kutztown 61, California 56: Ishmieal Kamara scored 21 points, but the host Vulcans (4-3) weren't able to overcome a 15-point halftime deficit. Bilal Salaam had 17 points for Kutztown (3-3).
Edinboro 60, West Chester 58: Rob Sims hit the winning shot with three seconds left and finished with a team-high 16 points as the Fighting Scots (3-3) defeated visiting West Chester (3-2).
Millersville 75, Clarion 73: Rollie Smith's 27 points weren't enough to lift the Golden Eagles (4-2) past visiting Millersville (7-1).
Westminster 72, Frostburg State 65: Chris Hatch scored 17 points and Greg Foster had 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Titans (2-4) defeated visiting Frostburg (1-3).
Cheyney 57, Slippery Rock 55: Johnny Ggloster scored 28 points as visiting Cheyney edged The Rock. Shaun Grill scored 18 points in the loss.
CCBC 90, CCAC-South 79: Brian Woodson scored 22 points and Curtis Cross added 16 as the Community College of Beaver County (8-0, 4-0) remained undefeated. Ray Green had 30 points for Community College of Allegheny County-South Campus (4-5, 3-1).
CCAC-Allegheny 79, Penn State Fayette 41: Community College of Allegheny County-Allegheny Campus outscored Penn State Fayette (0-8, 0-4), 36-20, in the second half to cruise to the victory. Josh White scored 14 for CCAC (5-4, 3-1).
Butler County Community College 89, Penn State New Kensington 73: Nathaniel McCoy scored a game-high 39 points as Butler (5-7) defeated PS New Kensington (3-5).
