The Butterfly Ball

Tom O'Brien, retired chairman of PNC Financial Services, served as honorary chair of the Butterfly Ball that honored current PNC chairman Jim Rohr and his wife, Sharon.

The gala event Saturday at the Pittsburgh Field Club was a benefit for the Woodlands Auxiliary, which raises funds to support the Woodlands, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with disabilities and chronic illness. Its 32-acre campus in Wexford offers year-round activities and programs in partnership with organizations including the Pittsburgh Symphony. Helping to recruit O'Brien was his daughter, Laurie Troutman, who co-chaired the ball with Jenny Kelly, Joan Mortenson and Linda Savin. Dancing to Dreamscape or bidding on that weeklong Mediterranean cruise were County Executive Jim Roddey with Elin, Maureen O'Brien, auxiliary president Bette King (with Richard), Dan and Debby Booker, Chip and Cara Ganassi, J.R. Philp and Jackie Stanley, Steve and Cathleen Walker, Martha and Theodore Fithian, Sydelle Kessler, Audrey Brourman, Jim and Amy Usher, Pat and Charlie Gray, board chair Don Reigel (with Gay) and Woodlands executive director Peter Clakeley.
