Cotillion for a Cause

The committee for the 16th Annual Easter Seals Cotillion made a seamless move to a themeless gala.

Moving away from parties developed around a motif like a Mexican fiesta or Arabian nights, they decided to celebrate the heart of the matter, which is "Independence" for disabled adults and children. The Omni William Penn's Urban Room and Grand Ballroom were simply adorned with white lilies and nearly 350 black- tie guests Saturday night. Emcee and KDKA anchor Stacy Smith (with Sharon) welcomed all before introducing board chair William Caroselli and honorary chairs Rosemarie and Rory Cooper. The parents of 2002 child representative Corey Ceccarelli, Corrado and Pam, expressed their gratitude for Easter Seals of Western Pennsylvania's school programs.

Feeling good about contributing to the cause by bidding on the silent auction items, buying raffle tickets or just dancing to Total Recall were chairs Lori and Tom Ali and Charlynne and Dr. Richard Schollaert, CEO Lawrence Rager (with Varyl), Heather and Jim Sweeney, Dr. Mike and Lynn Swanson, Linda Dickerson, Marion and Santo Berasi, Lisa and Charles Merchant, Barb and Bob Dunkelman, Jack Coyne, Mervat Abdelhak, Karen Novak, Dr. Tim and Karen Kavic, Dr. Barry Lembersky with Diane Faust, Dr. Jeff and Jackie Shogan, Michelle and Bryant Mullen and Jennifer Raetz with Coleman Griffin.
