Penguins' Kennedy out with high ankle sprain
Thursday, February 09, 2012

Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said today that winger Tyler Kennedy has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain that will keep him out of the lineup four to six weeks, although he added that the time frame will become clearer moving forward.

Kennedy got hurt late in a game Sunday at New Jersey. He has six goals, 22 points in 42 games this season.

In the meantime, center Jordan Staal left practice after taking a stick to the face. Bylsma said Staal just needed stitches. Staal looks to be on pace to return from a knee injury Saturday for a home game against Winnipeg.
