Polamalu resumes practice with Steelers
Friday, October 23, 2009

Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu returned to Steelers practice today after missing the previous two days while resting and recovering from an MCL sprain that caused him to miss four games before he started last Sunday against Cleveland.

Friday practice is a sure sign of a player's ability to play, if not start, on Sunday -- when the Steelers play host to 6-0 Minnesota at Heinz Field.

As expected, Polamalu worked with the first-team defense.

After practice, he pronounced himself ready to start and play Sunday -- when he plans to try the knee brace that he used in practice late last week and yesterday, but shed last weekend in the victory over the Browns.

"I'll probably try it on Sunday," Polamalu said. "Of course, it's bothersome to wear. There was no way [last weekend] I could get into a gallop with it." But, he added, the brace is starting to feel a little less limiting with additional usage.
