POST-GAZETTE.COM SETS RECORD FOR MONTHLY UNIQUE USERS
More than three million unique users visit online news and information site in September

PITTSBURGH – October 4, 2005 – Fourteen months after breaking the two million monthly unique users mark, post-gazette.com has reached a new milestone that reinforces its status as the region’s most-trafficked online destination.

Web analytics from 24/7 Real Media show that more than 3.2 million unique users – distinct computers – accessed post-gazette.com in September. This represents a 60 percent increase from the same time last year and illustrates that more and more people are using the Internet to get information.

“We have always been committed to user satisfaction. Our site is easy to navigate and quick to download which keeps users coming back for more,” said Debra Alward, Director of Interactive Media at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Research from the Media Audit shows that not only does post-gazette.com reach more adults in the Pittsburgh market than any other local web site, but it attracts a predominately young, affluent and educated audience. Fifty-nine percent of post-gazette.com’s audience is under age 45, 56 percent have an individual income of $50,000 or more and 43 percent have at least a college degree.
