    2 dozen medium shrimp, peeled, deveined and washed
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1/2 teaspoon fresh or powdered ginger
    1 teaspoon fresh or powdered garlic
    Pinch of turmeric
    1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
    Fresh lemon juice

Mix all ingredients at least 1/2 hour before grilling shrimp on skewers. Grill on a medium-hot charcoal or a gas grill a few minutes on each side. Drizzle fresh lemon juice over shrimp and serve with rice pulou, the Urdu word for pilaf.
