In spite of cool, wet weather, the first batch of local strawberries is available, "with many more to come," said Tom Driscoll of the Citiparks Farmers' Markets. Other new items are garlic and peas. Farmers' Market at Pine Community Park is also offering strawberries starting this week.

The markets are also offering bedding plants, herbs, edible flowers, onions, asparagus, lettuce, rhubarb, radishes, leeks, arugula, green and red leaf lettuce and romaine lettuce, green onions and a spring mix of lettuces. Some items may not be available at all markets.

Ambridge Farmers' Market, Park Road and Route 65; 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays.

Beaver Falls Farmers' Market, parking lot behind Broadhead Apartments, 8th Avenue and 12th Street, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays.

Beaver Farmers' Market, courthouse parking lot, Fourth and Market streets, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

Carrick Farmers' Market, Carrick Shopping Center, 2100 Brownsville Road, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

City-County Building, 400 Grant St., Downtown, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays.

Clarion County Farmers' Market, Clarion Memorial Park, 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

Coraopolis Farmers' Market, Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis, Broadway and Fifth Avenue, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays.

East Liberty Farmers' Market, Penn Circle West, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays.

Farmers at the Firehouse, 2216 Penn Ave., Strip District, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays.

Farmers' Market at Pine Community Park, Pearce Mill Road, Wexford, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays.

Farmers' Cooperative Market of East Liberty, 344 N. Sheridan Ave. (next to Home Depot), 5 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Open year-round.

Greensburg Farmers' Market, behind City Hall in downtown Greensburg, 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays.

Hempfield Farmers' Market, Route 136, 9 a.m. to noon. Saturdays.

Highland Park, Pittsburgh Zoo parking lot, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays. Opens today.

North Side, East Park, across from the main entrance of Allegheny General Hospital at Cedar Avenue, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays.

Monroeville Lions Farmers' Market, Gateway High School parking lot, 9 a.m to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays.

Original Farmers' Night Market, Route 50, South Fayette, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Penn's Corner Farmers' Market, at the old car wash on Ellsworth Avenue, next to the Harris Grill, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays.

South Side Farmers' Market, South 18th and Carson streets. 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

Wilkinsburg Farm Market, Ross Avenue parking lot, 3 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. (Free parking after 2:30 p.m.)
