According to their mother, Rene, the girls found this recipe in a cookbook and "then ran with it." They have both been helping their mother in the kitchen for years.

"Ever since they were little, they liked doing the dishes and playing with the soapy water," she said.

The family, including their extended family with grandparents, aunts and cousins, have a big ravioli-making day in late fall.

"Once a year, we make a huge batch of homemade ravioli and freeze it for Christmas and Easter," said Rene. "The girls are big enough that they each have their own jobs now."

1 package refrigerated

  • chocolate chip cookie
  • dough (these tubes of dough
  • can be found in your grocery
  • store's dairy case)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter, divided
  • Candy (M&Ms, red licorice,
  • jelly beans)

    Heat oven to 325 degrees.

Spread cookie dough in a circle on a baking sheet and cook in oven for 20 minutes. Cool.

Melt chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon butter. Spread over cookie crust. Decorate with candy.

Melt the white chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon butter and drizzle over candy toppings.
