Dough:
- 3-ounce package cream cheese, softened
- 1 stick shortening
- 1 cup flour (do not sift)
Filling:
- 1 egg beaten
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup finely ground nuts
- 1-teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon melted butter
Mix the cream cheese and shortening together; add flour. Form into 24 balls and place in small muffin tins, shaping cups.
Mix filling ingredients together. Put about 1 teaspoon filling into each cup. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Makes approximately 24 nut cups.
