Chili 1-2-3

We wanted to throw less spicy chili into the mix for those of you who prefer milder chili. Chili 1-2-3 was sent in by Mary Ann Dillon of McCandless.

  • 1 pound ground meat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup mild salsa
  • 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes, with juices
  • 15-ounce can red kidney beans, drained
  • 15-ounce can chili beans, drained
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (Ched-dar, Monterey Jack or combination)

In a large pot, brown the ground meat, drain. Add the remaining ingredients. Simmer for about 20 minutes.

Serve with additional cheese, chopped green onions or sour cream. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
