These cookies smelled great baking. In a home taste test, Miss Samantha T. Kitty, wolfed it down while it was still a bit warm; Sneakers was totally indifferent.
1/2 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup dry milk
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 small (2.5-ounce) jar beef puree baby food
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
With a wooden spoon, stir together the wheat germ, dry milk and honey in a small mixing bowl. Add the beef puree and stir until thoroughly mixed. (Use a fork and blend as you would meatloaf. You'll end up with a crumbly yet sticky dough.)
Form the mixture into small balls (we made our slightly smaller than 1 inch in diameter). Place the balls on a greased cookie sheet and flatten them with a fork. (Because the dough was so sticky, we sprayed the bottom of the fork with nonstick cooking spray.) Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool before serving. Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Makes 8 to 10 servings (18 1-inch cookies).
