Southern Barbecue Flank Steak

H.J. Heinz had named this delicious dish First and Goal Flank Steak in honor of the football season. For Valentine's Day, where my single daughter was concerned, it sounded too much like somebody looking to score -- or at least get to first base -- so her dad and I changed the name.

1 1/2 pounds flank steak
1/2 cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee Hickory Mesquite Grilling Sauce
1/4 cup red wine

Place flank steak in a large heavy-duty zipper-top plastic bag. Combine grill sauce with red wine and pour mixture over steak. Seal bag and turn several times to coat steak. Marinate 4 to 24 hours in refrigerator, turning several times. Discard marinade. Grill steak over medium heat to desired doneness, turning and brushing with additional grilling sauce. (We did ours on a top-of-the-range grilling pan, but it can also be grilled outside or in the oven's broiler. It took 20 minutes or so for rare.)
