"This is one of the most-requested recipes for tailgate fare, be it at the game or home or elsewhere" writes Dona Todarello, who sent in three recipes.
20 to 25 chicken wings or a bag of frozen wings (we used frozen)
1 cup water
1 cup soy sauce (we used Kikkoman Lite Soy Sauce)
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup sweetened pineapple juice
1/4 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger
Cut off and discard tips of wings. Cut each wing in half. Mix all ingredients and pour over wings in large shallow pan. Cover and refrigerate over night. Drain, reserving marinade for basting.
Bake uncovered in 350-degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or until very tender and brown. Stir occasionally and baste when needed during baking.
Note: If serving remaining marinade with the wings, boil for 5 to 10 minutes.
