Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Filling:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Cake:

3/4 cup butter or margarine, soft
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 1/2 cups sour cream

Filling: Mix brown sugar, nuts and cinnamon and set aside.

Cake: Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix at medium speed for 2 minutes. Mix flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Alternate adding flour mixture with sour cream to butter mixture. Mix altogether for about 2 minutes.

Pour half of the batter into a 12-cup bundt pan or two loaf pans. Add filling, reserving a small amount for topping. Bake for about 60 minutes (ours took 54 minutes and popped right out of the pan after cooling for 5 minutes) in a 350-degree oven.
