Peanut Butter Kisses
According to Cameron's mom, Anita, Cameron started cooking with her when he was only 3 years old. "We bake a lot, especially around the holidays," she said. These cookies are one of his favorites for Christmas. "I like the Hershey kisses," he said.
1/2 cup of butter or margarine (Cameron prefers butter, which we used)
1/2 cup peanut butter (Cameron prefers Jif or Skippy)
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Sugar for rolling in
Bag of Hershey's Kisses
In a mixing bowl, beat butter and peanut butter with an electric mixer for about 30 seconds. Add 1/2 cup of the flour, the sugars, eggs, baking soda, baking powder and vanilla. Beat until combined. Beat in remaining flour.
Cover dough and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 7 to 9 minutes. Remove from oven and press Hershey's kiss into cookie. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
