Fresh Strawberry Pound Cake

1 box (18 1/4 ounces) white cake mix
1 cup crushed strawberries
1 small package strawberry-flavored gelatin
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs, at room temperature
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup mashed strawberries

Combine cake mix (we used yellow), 1 cup crushed strawberries, gelatin, vegetable oil and eggs in a large bowl; mix for 3 minutes. Pour into a well-greased and well-floured tube pan. (We used a bundt pan.) Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes; remove to serving plate. Combine glaze ingredients -- butter, sugar and 1/4 cup berries -- and spread over cake.

Makes 12 to 16 servings.
