1 loaf Hawaiian bread, (found at most grocery stores, near the deli), see note
2 teaspoons horseradish
1/4 pound roast beef
2 teaspoons mayonnaise
4 slices Swiss cheese
2 teaspoons mustard
1/4 pound baked ham
Sliced tomatoes, 3 to 5 depending on size
5 slices bacon, cooked
4 slices American cheese
1/2 Bermuda onion, sliced thin
1/2 stick butter
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
Slice loaf of bread in 6 horizontal layers.
First layer: On bottom layer of bread, spread horseradish and layer roast beef. Cover with next layer of bread.
Second layer: Spread bread with mayonnaise and layer with Swiss cheese. Add next layer of bread.
Third layer: Spread bread with mustard and layer with ham. Add next layer of bread.
Fourth layer: Layer sliced tomatoes and bacon. Add next layer of bread.
Fifth layer: Layer American cheese and onion. Top with final layer of bread.
Melt butter; add onion salt and sesame seeds. Spread on top of sandwich.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
Note: After baking, we wrapped our sandwich with aluminum foil to keep hot.
