Is that a whiff of autumn in the air?
Before we know it, the dog days of August will turn into the fabulous foods of fall.
In Pennsylvania, fall means football and football means tailgate food.
If you have a favorite tailgate dish or menu that you'd like to share with PG readers, we'd love to hear from you. On Sept. 23, PG Food will print some of our favorite recipes -- and yours -- before the home opener with the Seattle Seahawks that Sunday.
We're not limiting our tailgate fare to the pros, of course. Recipes suitable for games at Pitt and Penn State -- any college where the tailgate drops when lunch is served -- are also welcome. We're equal opportunity eaters. In addition, we imagine some of you have special tailgate-before-the-tube specialty dishes as well.
Look for all the best stuff on Sept. 23. Three ways to get the recipes to us:
Please include your name, neighborhood and daytime phone number. Questions? Call Suzanne Martinson, 412-263-1760. We hope to hear from you. In order to allow time for recipe testing and tasting, we'd appreciate having all recipes and menus no later than Aug. 31.
