The Dessert With No Name

1 can apple pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix (Jiffy or other brand that makes a one-layer cake)
1 stick ( 1/4 pound) butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour apple pie filling into a greased 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle cake mix on top, it won't completely cover the filling. Melt butter and drizzle over the top. Bake for about an hour until brown. Serve hot or cold, with ice cream if desired.
