Evolver Tattoo Arts is a studio and gallery where three of the best local custom tattooists ply their trade and host a variety of events.

A tattoo is a form of body modification made by inserting indelible ink into the outer layer of the skin to change its color. Tattooing has been practiced for centuries in many cultures, particularly in Asia, and spread throughout the world. When applied by a skilled professional, a tattoo is considered an art form.

Evolver regularly welcomes local artists, bands, disc jockeys and musicians.

It is housed in an attractive storefront (painted a sterling blue) in a handsome, century-old building on the city's historic South Side. As the tattoo shop has recently expanded to the rest of its building, Evolver is working to incorporate an artist studio with artist meet-ups and classes, an espresso lounge, and a recording studio. The space serves as an arts hub for tattoo arts, fine arts and music alike in the South Side.

Monday through Saturday, 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
