The Pittsburgh Federation Of Teachers (PFT) is a part of the American Federation Of Teachers, which was founded in 1916 in Chicago.
The American Federation Of Teachers (AFT) represents the economic, social and professional interests of classroom teachers.
The PFT is located inside a handsome, contemporary red brick building near the Monongahela River. In addition to offices and related facilities, the Fondy Meeting Room is often rented or loaned to outside groups for events.
Named after past PFT president Albert Fondy (1935-2005), the spacious Fondy Meeting Room provides seating for 275 people at round tables for eight. Supporting the meeting room is a well-appointed kitchen, a portable dance floor and a patio.
The offices are normally open weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
On-street parking is available.
