With a commitment to excellence, the Chartiers Valley School District provides a safe, caring environment where students can receive a quality education. The home, school and community participate as partners to ensure that all students have an opportunity to maximize their own unique potential. Mutual respect and self-worth are fostered as essential qualities. Emphasis is placed on enabling each student to adapt to change, to recognize the value of lifelong learning and to become a contributing member of a global society.

The area the district serves the communities around Chartiers Creek, a tributary of the Ohio River named after trapper Pierre Chartier who established a trading post at the mouth of the creek in 1743.

The intermediate school is a contemporary red brick building where 750 bright students in Grades 3 to 5 begin to develop their personal responsibility, self-reliance and creativity. Facilities include a modern cafeteria, a playground, state-of-the-art auditorium, fully equipped computer lab and library.

The core curriculum is comprised of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, health education, physical education, Spanish, visual arts and music.
