Organized in 1927, the Liberty Borough Volunteer Fire Department primarily serve a one square mile in area southeast of Pittsburgh protecting nearly 3,000 suburban residents.
They are an all-volunteer department comprised of 40 highly trained firefighters, vehicle rescue technicians and emergency medical technicians who respond to an average of 170 fire related calls a year.
Their simple but attractive cinder block headquarters includes offices, vehicle storage and a social hall that can comfortably seat 250 people.
