Mars United Presbyterian Church is a welcoming, positive and proactive part of the community in Mars, a small town of 1,800 people in Butler County.
The church is a result a 1969 merger between two Presbyterian Churches that served the Mars since the late 1890s. They continue to live and grow as a vibrant community reaching out to all. The church serves as a center for community life where local scout troups meet, as well as weekly Alcoholic Anonymous (A.A.) meetings, monthly Women Infants 7 Children (W.I.C.) consultations, along withother community groups and church groups that regularly use their modern and accessible facilities.
It is a member of the Presbyterian Church In The USA (PCUSA), the most visible and influential Presbyterian denomination in North America. The PCUSA is often very progressive, from the freedom of worship allowed to local congregations and embracing many minority groups.
