New Amsterdam Pub

Description

For years an aging dive bar, this neighborhood haunt has been renewed as a classy spot bringing new cool to a hip part of the city.

The sleek facade welcome guests through either a glass door or an open garage door that allows the fun spill onto the street. The interior is painted in a sultry deep red with prints by tattoo artists hanging from the walls.

Reflecting its blue collar heritage, a sticker by the bar displays a brawny steelworker with the confrontational tagline "Pittsburgh: We're not Manhattan, we just built it."

The New Amsterdam Pub regularly schedules events featuring popular local disc jockeys and bands --- as well as classic hip-hop tunes on the jukebox.
