The congregation of this historic church joyfully proclaims the mighty deeds of Jesus as Lord and God through their worship and acts of service --- from a health care center to a food bank.
They have been an important part of Emsworth, a small town of 2,600 people northwest of Pittsburgh, since its founding as a religious school in 1865. The current building opened in 1895. This big, inspiring structure with its beautifully arched windows and comforting landscape welcomes parishioners and community alike for various program and events as well as services.
Emsworth United is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), one of the largest Protestant denominations in the country. It is a welcoming demonination, with each local congregation having a great deal of freedom in the style and ordering of worship and often being progressive on many issues.
