Castle Shannon Park & Ride Lot

Description

Operated by the Port Authority Of Allegheny County, this lot allows commuters in the suburbs south of Pittsburgh to conveniently park their cars before taking the light rail transit service to downtown or South Hills Village mall.

The Port Authority Of Allegheny County (often called simple PAT) is one of the largest public transit systems in the United States. The county owned, state funded agency is based in Pittsburgh and is overseen by a CEO and a ten member board of directors, who report to the county executive.

The 507-space lot is sometimes loaned to nonprofit organizations for large, outdoor events including fundraisers.

Amenities includes a covered station with benches, rider information, newspaper vending machines and a bike rack.

Hours of operation

The lot is open every day that there rail service, effectively 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
