Description

Founded in 1984, Rita's Italian Ice is a chain of cold dessert eateries selling mainly Italian ice, frozen custard and gelati as well as its specialty creations.

The company is named after Rita Tumolo, the wife of founder Bob Tumolo, a former Philadelphia firefighter, decided to open a small Italian Ice business to augment his income.

Rita's outlet in Oakland is located in a storefront with the distinctove red and white Rita's awning welcoming everyone inside.
