Organized in 1852, Franklin Park Baptist Church serves Christians in and around Franklin Park, a town of 11,000 in northeastern Allegheny County.
It is a member of American Baptist Churches (ABC), a denomination based in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania that traces its history back to 1638. ABC respects a certain amount of diversity within its member churches and Christianity as a whole.
Franklin Park's handsome red brick sanctuary was built in 1872, but the cemetery dates back to the origin of the congregation. Here, members takes part in traditional but not liturgical services as well as a variety of spiritual and community programs.
