Chartered in 1947, the Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department & Relief Association provides fire protection to small communities on the southwestern edge of Allegheny County.
From a well-equipment cinderblock building, the company responds to various emergencies such as fighting fires, water rescue/flood assistance, canine search & rescue; and ambulance assistance.
Facilities include a recreational room that offers a relaxed, informal atmosphere with comfortable chairs and fun games. The company also has a social hall that comfortably seats 200 people where a variety of community events are often held.
