A project of Carnegie-Mellon University (CMU), Waffle Shop is a part-time, student-run restaurant that is also used for art events.
The Waffle Shop's signature project is taping a talk show --- complete with the traditional talk show set of desk and sofa --- and airing the show over the internet and in the shop's windows.
Located inside a former 700-square-foot tuxedo shop within the historic Werner Building, the shop's decor is very simple with huge windows and comfortable tables where guests can watch the taping while savoring their choice of waffles.
The Waffle Shop is suprervised by Jon Rubin, a CMU professor and multi-disciplinary artist whose work explores the social dynamics of public spaces and the lives of ordinary individuals.
