Monaca Heights Mission Church is a small church in rural Beaver County affiliated with the Church Of The Nazarene.
Established in 1908, The Church Of The Nazarene is an Evangelical Fundamentalist Christian denomination with roots in the theology of John Wesley (1703-1791) whose work stressed the life of Christian holiness: to love God with all one’s heart, mind, soul and strength and to love one’s neighbor as oneself.
The "signature doctrine" of the Church Of The Nazarene is that of entire sanctification. Nazarenes believe that God calls Christians to a life of holy living that is marked by an act of God, cleansing the heart from original sin and filling the individual with love for God and for humanity. This experience is marked by a Christian's desire and practice to do God's will by a life of seeking to serve God through service to others. They believe that, like salvation, entire sanctification is an act of God's grace, not of our own actions.
The church's simple building is often used for community activities as well as church events.
