Description

The Mon Valley Initiative (MVI) is a non-profit organization that strives to meet its mission of working together to unite the communities and restore the economic vitality of the Mon Valley.

Pennsylvania's Mon Valley is the collection of communities located in the valley around the Monongahela River.

MVI works to meet their goal by renovating and constructing high quality, affordable housing and assisting communities to develop and maintain their main street districts; by providing individuals with the tools they need to enter in to the workforce; by providing in-depth, one on one housing counseling services to put people on the path to successful home ownership and by helping member Community Development Corporations to become efficient and effective organizations.

Their office in downtown Homestead is often used for gatherings and workshops.
