Description

Mount Hope Community Church is a vibrant congregation with numerous youth and adult programs, chancel and children's choirs, service opportunities, and partnerships both local and across the globe.

Mount Hope began as a mission church just after World War II under the sponsorship of the Board Of American Missions of the former United Presbyterian Church. It was consecrated as such on September 22, 1946 in the Penn Hills Township Municipal Building. Worship, Sunday School classes, and church meetings were actually held in the Municipal Building until 1949.

Today the church is housed in a handsome, traditional red brick building with a proud steeple rifing to the sky and a sanctuary featuring attractive stain glass windows and brass chandeliers.

Mount Hope is part of the Presbyterian Church USA, a mainline Protestant Christian denomination with over two million members around the country.
