Description

Dating to 1869, the primary mission of the Mount Oliver Fire Department is to provide a full range of programs and services designed to protect the lives and property of the citizens of the Mount Oliver from the adverse effects of fire or exposure to dangerous conditions created by either man or nature.

Mount Oliver is unique in that it is a municipality completely surrounded by a major metropolitan city, Pittsburgh --- and borders a neighborhood with the same name. Both are named for Oliver Ormsby, whose father held the original land grant for the area from King George III in the Colonial Era.

Adjacent to the fire hall is a bingo hall used for various community events including, of course, bingo.

Hours of operation

While the Mount Oliver Fire Department provides firefighting services on a 24/7 schedule, the halls are open depending on the program or event.

Parking

On-street parking is available.
