The Conscious Cafe can best be described as a cafe with a cause. The cafe serves as a bookstore, meeting place for the community and a donation location for books.

It is an initiative of Adventist Community Services Of Greater Pennsylvania, the humanitarian arm of the Seventh-day Adventist Church In Greater Pittsburgh.

Established in 1863, the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Fundamentalist Christian denomination that can trace its origins to the emerging fundamentalist doctrines of the 1840s. Adventist are distinguished by their observance of Saturday, the original seventh day of the Judeo-Christian week, as the Sabbath, and an emphasis on the imminent second coming of Jesus Christ.

Adventist Community Services' vision is to empower Pittsburgh communities in need through local community individuals, churches, and agencies united by service and love.

Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
